Peace Action Human Rights Day Candlelight Commemoration

Due to predicted stormy weather, instead of our traditional Candlelight Vigil, this year’ we will be holding our Candlelight Commemoration in the conference room at the Peace Action office, 909 12th St., in downtown Sacramento. If you’re joining us at home, we invite you to light a candle of your own when we light our own during the event.

This event, celebrating the 74th anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, will include a reading of the 30 Articles contained in the Declaration. You can read the document at: https://www.un.org/en/about-us/universal-declaration-of-human-rights  We plan to take turns, with a different person reading each article. If you’d like to join in on Zoom, please download a copy, and raise your hand during when the reading begins.

We traditionally top the evening off with dinner afterward at the Spaghetti Factory on J Street, a few blocks down from from the candlelight vigil. If you’d like to join us, please RSVP at 916 448-7157 so we’ll know how many places to reserve.
