Earlier this month, Congress passed a resolution to overturn Biden’s 2022 rule permitting ESG investment, which Biden vetoed on March 20. Nationwide, there are lawsuits mounting and state-level anti-ESG legislation in the works. ESG investment is also being increasingly scapegoated for economic downturn, with the recent collapse of Silicon Valley Bank being blamed on its ESG investments. Hannah Reid Rubinek is a Digital Campaigner for Sunrise US, working on the intersection of climate and finance with a focus on asset managers. She has previously worked as a speechwriter and deputy communications director for Democratic primary senate candidate Jillian Battino, a distributed organizer for Senator Jon Ossoff’s 2020 runoff election, and a digital organizer for Indivisible and Warren Democrats. In addition to her political and corporate organizing experience, Hannah has worked in film and television, writing, producing, and acting in various projects.
Jacey Bingler is a Senior Communications Campaigner with Sunrise US, and a communications specialist with over ten years of experience in digital media and public relations. Prior to joining Sunrise US, Jacey led international media relations at Urgewald, conducted research for Avaaz’s anti-disinformation campaign around EU und US elections, and headed communications at the tree planting search engine Ecosia. Stints in her earlier career include working for a travel guide publisher, a record label and the city of Hamburg’s online presence. She has a degree in Journalism.
