VENEZUELA: U.S Attacks, Media Distortions, and Global Solidarity

Join in for a panel and discussion to launch the Venezuela Solidarity Network, a new solidarity group of organizations and individuals in North America coming together in opposition to the attacks by the U.S. and Canada.

Speakers:

Maria Paez Victor, one of the founders of the Louis Riel Bolivarian Circle, founded in 2003 in Toronto, Canada. She is a sociologist, born in Venezuela, with graduate degrees from Venezuela, UK and Canada. Producer of the only radio program in Canada exclusively on Venezuela, VENEZUELA VIVA.

Joe Emersberger, UNIFOR union member with Ecuadorian roots and Co-Author of “Extraordinary Threat: The US Empire, the Media and Twenty Years of Coup Attempts in Venezuela” (2021, Monthly Review).

Leonardo Flores, Analyst on U.S.-Venezuela relations. Leonardo was born in Venezuela and maintains close ties to social movements that have transformed the country over the past twenty years.
