As warmongers continue to disregard calls for peace and send more weapons to support the genocide in Gaza, it’s easy to feel depressed and demoralized. We’re witnessing many people show up with feelings of frustration, confusion, powerlessness and hopelessness. These feelings are all understandable after watching ten months of extreme and psychotic violence against the Palestinian people–and against people standing in solidarity with Palestine here in the U.S. And yet, these feelings are not going to stop the violence. As we continue to expose the violence and disrupt business as usual, we must also go to the root of the problem, the war economy. What can stop the violence is ending the war economy that creates the violence in the first place.
We’re not going to end war until we end the war economy. We’re not going to see peace until we ourselves are cultivating it within ourselves and our communities. This is where our power lies; our very lives will expose the violence and will be cultivating a peaceful future while nourishing life now.
