In response to Hamas’s brutal attack on Israeli civilians, the Israeli military is responding with a horrific bombing campaign on the Gaza strip, which is home to 2.2 million Palestinians – nearly half of whom are children.

We at Massachusetts Peace Action demand that the response to war crimes against civilians must NOT be even more war crimes against even more civilians.

In a press briefing on Wednesday, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre blasted Democratic lawmakers for calling for a cease fire and an end to the violence between Israel and Palestine. “We believe they’re wrong. We believe they’re repugnant,” she said.

Calling for peace is NOT wrong. 

Calling for deescalation is NOT wrong. 

Calling for a ceasefire is NOT wrong. 

Standing for peace is NECESSARY to save innocent civilian lives, both Israeli and Palestinian. 

A wave of militarists and war hawks are swarming western mainstream media, banging as hard as they can on the drums of war, like Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who is urging Israel to “Level” Gaza – home to innocent civilians who do not deserve to die for the war crimes of Hamas.

“We are fighting against human animals,” is how Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant announced what he called a “complete siege” on Gaza, completely cutting off food, water, electricity, and fuel for nearly a million innocent Palestinian children.

Your elected officials in Congress must hear from constituents like you, who stand for sanity and humanity by calling for an immediate ceasefire and deescalation to save innocent civilian lives. Militarists and war hawks calling for more violence in the region are who they are hearing from the most from now.
