Legislative Operation to Protect education on Palestine and freedom to protest – at State Capitol

August 6 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Mark calendars, please:
Our state legislative operation is swinging into high gear as the bills we’re been opposing head to appropriations committees Aug. 5 and 7, then likely the full Assembly and Senate. The California Palestine Solidarity Coalition is calling on folks to converge on Sacramento on Tuesday Aug. 6 to meet with as many legislators and staff as possible.

For those of us in Sacramento, it’s a much shorter trip to the Capitol, so anyone who can, please take the day off and join the campaign. See the attached flier and use the RSVP form so we’ll know who’s coming.

If you can do double duty on the 5th or 7th (maybe both!), please also show up for Senate Appropriations at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 – 1021 O Street, Room 2200; and Assembly Appropriations on Wed., Aug. 7 (exact time and place TBA).

There probably won’t be actual public testimony, but individuals and organizational representatives can line up at the microphone to offer “me too” and a few words. It can make an important impression to show volume and diversity of opinion for or against a measure.
